CALIFORNIA SERIES

 WHAT IS CALIFORNIA SERIES?

GGI in conjunction with Southwall Technologies supplies the most energy efficient glass and glazing products in the world. GGI’s glazing products allow expansive use of glass to enhance the appearance of a building without compromising occupant comfort or architectural designs. To achieve this in laminated glass products, it uses California SeriesrM technology also known as Heat Mirror laminated. California Series™ laminated glass addresses the demanding requirements of today’s architects, builders, owners and occupants. California SeriesrTM glass can allow greater than 70% visible transmission while reflecting more than 50% of invisible heat, allowing high quality, energy efficient window design with maximum light transmission and minimum solar heat gain.

California Series™ consists of a thin, wave length - selective XIR® coated film sandwiched between two layers of PVB and glass (see figure 1). Unlike tinted glass products which absorb and reradiate heat into the building, California Series™ laminated glass reflects heat to the outside. Its unique, low visible-reflectivity meets external daytime as well as internal night time visual requirements.

California Series™ laminated glass allows increased design solutions. Whether clear or tinted, it reduces the solar load by as much as 40%. Larger expanses of glass are possible without incurring additional cooling costs.

Vertical, sloped and overhead glazing as well as rooms and offices with direct sun exposure will benefit from reduced heat gain. Additional benefits include reduced sound transmission and ultraviolet fading protection (99.5% UV blockage).

California Series™ laminated glass combines significant solar control with high light transmission and low visible reflectivity. It is available in a wide palette of colours.

OPTIONS

  • Monolithic laminated
  • Insulating glass
  • Annealed and Tempered
  • Flat and curved
  • Captured and structural glazing systems
  • Vertical and sloped applications
  • OptiColor® Coloured Laminated Glass
  • Single and multi-coloured design silk screen printed and screen printed dot matrix patterning.

BENEFITS

Safety: hurricane certifiable and meets sloped and overhead requirements.

  • Security: resistant to penetration and forced-entry.
  • UV protection: blocks 99.5% of UV radiation.
  • Durability: no exposed coatings to scratch or degrade.
  • Sound: high sound isolation. Reaches upto 35dBa SIC in single form and upto 40dBa SIC in double Glazed form.

PERFORMANCE

  • Significantly lower heat gain than competitive glass with the same appearance-resulting in lower HVAC cost and lower operating costs.
  • High levels of natural daylight can be combined with lighting control systems to lower electrical consumption and reduce cooling loads.
