HEAT MIRROR™
WHAT IS HEAT MIRROR™?
Heat Mirror insulating glass
is used in commercial and residential applications from the Arctic Circle to
the tropics.
Heat Mirror films are
suspended in the center of sealed insulating glass units to create superior
product performance. When demanding site conditions, challenging
environmental conditions, or unique designs create premium performance
requirements, Heat Mirror insulating glass is the product of choice. Heat
Mirror has been specified by architects for almost twenty years to reduce
HVAC loads and improve operating efficiency. The world’s first
lowemissivity product, Heat Mirror’s growing family of products have kept
it at the forefront of “Green” design revolution.
RESIDENTIAL INSULATING GLASS PRODUCTS
Heat Mirror products have
expanded the boundaries of performance available to architects, designers,
builders, and homeowners. Whether the design requirement is superior
insulation, protection from solar heat gain, or balanced year-round
protection in climates with four distinct seasons, there is a Heat Mirror
product for the job. With center of glass R-values exceeding 3.7 and solar
shading performance ranging from a shading coefficient of 0.66 in clear Heat
Mirror 88 to 0.23 in Heat Mirror 44 with gray glass, the right balance of
insulation, shading and aesthetics can easily be attained with Heat Mirror
insulating glass.
COMMERCIAL INSULATING GLASS PRODUCTS
The choice of the right
glazing is one of the most important and far-reaching decisions in the
architectural design process. Glass impacts design aesthetics, building
efficiency, occupant comfort, and employee productivity.
The Heat Mirror family of
wavelength-selective products offers the solution to all critical glazing
challenges. These solutions provide unparalleled flexibility to address
building requirements including the use of multiple products to tune a
building by meeting area-specific design requirements.
Use Heat Mirror products
with high product numbers for applications needing high light transmittance,
low reflectance, and moderate solar control. Use mid-range product numbers
for products needing more solar protection, and applications needing a
moderate level of reflectance. For maximum solar protection, use the lowest
numbered products, which have more reflectance and superior solar heat
rejection.
In applications where a
highly reflective solar control product is desired, select “HPR” products
(High Performance Reflective). These products combine highly reflective
aesthetics on the exterior surface with a less-reflective appearance on the
room side. All HPR products offer the performance advantages of Heat Mirror
suspended films.
