VANCEVA
HOW IT WORKS
High-performance glass
products offering new solutions by combining the technical and aesthetic
qualities of laminated glass for architectural projects. With Vanceva Colour
and Vanceva Design you have a choice.
Vanceva products are the
results of Solutia’s expertise in manufacturing the plastic film-PVB- which
is incorporated into laminated glass. Thanks to Vanceva Colour and Vanceva
Design, it is now possible to choose patterns and colours best suited to the
glass applications desired, without abandoning the specific advantages of
laminated glass.
Vanceva Colour
and Vanceva Design:
discover new solutions for your needs Vanceva Colour and Vanceva Design
plastic interlayers are composite films, which allow decorative laminated
glass to be manufactured, thanks to the choice of colours, and patterns they
offer. Encapsulated between two films of PVB and inserted between two layers
of glass, the patterns and colours are total protected against outside
stresses, and remain stable over the years. Different interlayers can also
be combined, offering new and unique decorative opportunities.
USE
These products enrich the
range of glass products by allowing architects, designers, and experts in
interiors, etc. to design interior layouts or buildings with an individual
touch, where laminated glass becomes a quite separate element of decoration.
Using Vanceva Colour and Design products, design professionals can, from now
on, give free range to their imagination, without this involving concessions
regarding resistance to weather, acoustic insulation, the safety of people
and property, or concerns of a reduction in harmful luminous effects.
BENEFITS/ADVANTAGES
Superior performance
Compared with other
decorative glass products, the patterns and colours of laminated plate gloss
based on Vanceva interlayers are protected from damage due to scratching,
dirt and some detergents. They are also easier to maintain.
In addition, Vanceva Colour
and Vanceva Design can be used with ordinary laminated glass as with heat
toughened glass, chemically toughened glass and insulating glass. Thus they
offer solutions suited to the different technical performances required,
without harming the originality and creativity of projects.
The specific advantages of
Vanceva products can clearly be added to the specific advantages of PVB
laminated glass, i.e., the protection of people and property, acoustic
protection and protection against UV rays.
Reinforced acoustic insulation
Laminated glass reduces
undesirable noise more effectively than standard glass, thanks to its
composition based on PVB, the elasticity of which dulls the effects of
resonance and coincidence specific to glass materials.
Protection against UV rays
By acting as a filter to
harmful UV rays, Vanceva interlayers contribute to protection against
discoloration and damage to furniture, fabrics and furnishings, wall
coverings, etc.
Increased protection for people
Thanks to its plastic
interlayer, laminated glass is resistant to accidental impact. Compared with
ordinary glass, it does not shatter into dangerous fragments when it breaks:
the shards of glass generally adhere to the interlayer, which means there is
a lower risk of injury and material damage. Laminated windows based on
Vanceva interlayers meet the requirements of British Standard BS EN ISO
12543 – 1 to 6, covering laminated glass and its properties.
Greater safety for property
Complying with standard BS
EN 356 which governs glass products liable to vandalism and house-breaking,
Vanceva films contribute to the protection of property by offering increased
resistance to blows (even repeated blows) or glass cutters.
Further structural qualities
Compared with ordinary
glass, laminated glass based on Vanceva interlayers offers greater
resistance to wind, falls for snow and natural phenomena such as storms,
hurricanes and earthquakes.
